never underestimate the influence that your peers have over you.
for i've seen people changed because of the people/environment that they choose to hang out with/be in.
for better or for worse, most of us, except perhaps the most indomitable of us, will be affected by those around us.
my case in point, i've a friends whom i have not seen for the past 2 years until recently who was what most would describe as an ah beng. and that's partly because most of the students at his secondary school are like that.
2 years later, after hos graduation, when i saw him a few weeks ago, that ah beng had morphed into a gentleman (almost), greeting me warmly, and inviting me to a football game that sunday. all these without expletives.
he's dressing was different, he speech was different (most surely), his posture was different and perhaps more importantly, the people arouind him are different.
and surprise, surprise, i learnt that he's joined the church choir!
pretty darn amazing stuff, if you ask me.
