i'm really pleased right now, with euro 08 kicking off and the opening game being quite entertaining with the swiss being pretty open and attacking.

but the injury to frei was really dampening, seeing a grown man in tears because his tournament could be over after just 40 minutes or so of action.

the tournament that was your motivation to get back to fitness from a nightmare-lish series of injury, the tournament that you can get back to playing, the tournament that you captain your country- the co-host- to prove a point to the doubters, all over in the time taken for a single bad tackle.

and he left the pitch to a standing ovation, but in tears.

and i felt for him.

but the show must go on, and it is going on now in fact- the second half just kicked off.
