i hate to continually write about the same subjects over and over again, but i can't seem to help it.
but well, this is for my own pleasure, so what the heck.
one of the greatest reason that i really enjoy football, and for that matter chess (although i'm not very good at both) is that it's always different. it always varies every time you play. and it requires you to think (yes even football).
so such, it's kind of difficult to get bored of football, and chess; they're exciting, there's always something that you can't expect in whenever you play either football or chess and the outcome of the game depends heavily on how the decisions made regarding those 'surprises'. and that is fun, at least to me.
as such, i find it incredibly dull to play ball with people who are much poorer (or much better, for the matter), because it isn't a challenge, it's not engaging.
it's the feeling of being sharp, of having to be on your toes, of being able to play your 'a' game that is exhilarating, that is so addicting.
accordingly, i read in some book during the holidays, that guys, especially, are incredibly afraid of being bored.
that's why some enjoy collecting the latest gadgets so much.
that's why some enjoy sports so much.
growing up forces guys to have to 'act their age', but the gadgets allow them to satisfy their cravings to play with toys, and sports- games.
makes perfect sense to me.
