the past few days have been fairly good.
good because it's nice to be back in one's primary school, for the first time since it got rebuilt. it feels rather small though, the spanking new 6 (or is it 7?) stories new building notwithstanding. and alot more claustrophobic. i remember running around in the school field, the basketball courts, the basement and jumping off the giant steps etc... but the new building just doesn't feel right, as i was walking in it. too little space to run about. too cramped.
it was also good because it's kind of funny to deal with the primary school children, knowing that you were once too like them, incredibly noisy, restless and fidgety.
second day at work and i've already encountered the problem kid, the smart alex wannabes (many of them), the worm (the one the wriggles non-stop during nap time and is most comedic), the nice guy, the helpless but oh-so-cute-with-his-chubby-cheeks teddy bear that gets the girls swooning over him, the tomboy and the quiet ones.
and i've already gotten a 'tough' rating from the kid that tries every single new teacher, which is a positive, i guess.
still, it's really fun to work there. matthew, at a day care center. not many will believe it, but the children there are, rowdy as they might be, nice.
and i get to be called Mr Ta.
